Speaking after a cross-party briefing with Department, Colm Gildernew said:
“It is deeply concerning that delays in the interim report into the Neurology Recall scandal continues.
“Monday’s meeting with the Department of Health provided us with no clarity on when this report will be released.
“This will only add to the hurt and distress to felt by patients who are already deeply affected by failures of care.
“In the absence of the report, patients families and the wider public are no closer to understanding how failures in the system occurred and the extent to which it impacted on neurology patients.
“People are entitled to know the truth.
“I have written to the Permanent Secretary of Health calling on him to seek legal advice on his decision not to publish the interim report into the neurology recall.”
