Sinn Féin Justice spokesperson Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire TD has said that his party’s local election candidates will fight to increase incomes and reduce the cost of living, if elected in the on May 24th.
Publishing the Sinn Féin Local Election Manifesto this morning, Teachta Ó Laoghaire said:
“The Fine Gael government, with the support of Fianna Fáil, has overseen an unfair recovery which has benefited a privileged few and left many behind.
“For many working people, wages have stagnated and job insecurity has increased, while the cost of living continues to escalate.
“The crises in Health and Housing continue to spiral out of control, on the watches of incompetent Ministers.
“Our team of local election candidates in the 26 counties will work to bring about a fair and prosperous Ireland.
“Those in work, or those who are forced to stay at home through disability, alongside their carers, should not be struggling to pay bills or keep a roof over their heads.
“At local council level, housing, incomes, cost of living and rural Ireland will be key areas of priority for Sinn Féin. We want affordable homes, communities to be free from the fear of crime, and support for rural Ireland.
“Over the past five years we have shown what we can do with a strong mandate, and I would encourage people to get behind their Local Sinn Féin Election candidate and vote for a fairer society on May 24th.”
