Tuberculosis (TB) is the leading infectious disease killer globally although it is a treatable and curable disease.

Understandably the disease is a serious global concern particularly due to the emergence of multi-drug resistant strains and an ineffective vaccine, and so there is a global effort to end TB by 2030.

This workshop invites Seonadh O’Leary, a leading researcher on the disease in TCD to talk about TB, the way it works in the body and how we can fight it. Conor Courtney will also be along to discuss microscopy, why it’s important for disease research, and show you how to make and use a webcam microscope.
