The Library’s latest exhibition celebrates the 75th anniversary of the ‘What is life?’ lectures delivered in 1943 by Nobel prize-winning physicist Erwin Schrodinger. The lectures had an immediate and powerful impact on the development of Biology.
To mark the anniversary, and to coincide with the major international conference ‘What is Life? Schrodinger at 75 – the Future of Biology’, the Library has collaborated with Professor Luke O’Neill to curate an exhibition which examines Schrodinger’s time in Dublin and links with other remarkable Irish scientists and mathematicians such as William Rowan Hamilton and Ernest Walton.
