We’re looking for a self-motivated, ambitious individual with a passion for IT cloud computing and with strong attention to detail.
Reporting to the Verisk Ireland Technology Director and supported by Verisk group, the Junior DevOps will form part of an operational team that is responsible for the day to day care and maintenance of all Verisk Ireland AWS environments and a small office.
Ø Support, deploy, monitor & maintain production, staging & development AWS environments
Ø Ensuring high availability of all systems in a 24/7 environment
Ø Monitor, review and report on AWS costs.
Ø Assist development team in developing Continuous delivery
Ø Office Maintenance tasks (less than 20 staff)
Ø Disaster Recovery Planning and testing
Ø Introduce new initiatives and IT Procurement
Ø Availability to work outside office hours when the need arises
Ø Liaise with the corporate IRM team to ensure corporate best practises are followed
Ø Writing documentation, including technical procedural documentation
Ø Other tasks as delegated by the Technology Director
Candidates need to have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with the following technologies:
Ø Amazon Web services: WorkSpace, EC2, S3, RDS, ASG, CodeDeploy.
Ø Chef, Jenkins, JIRA
Ø MS SQL Server
Ø Windows 2008/2012 server
Ø Windows Desktop Operating Systems
Ø IIS, DNS, SMTP, RDP, SSL certificates
In addition, experience with some of following technologies would be desirable:
Ø Any AWS relates services or similar cloud providers
Ø Familiarity with Linux
Ø CouchBase or similar
Ø Experience in managing small office IT.
Essential skills, attributes and qualifications:
Ø IT related certificate/diploma or equivalent experience
Ø 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
Ø Confident manner with excellent technical, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ø Strong written and verbal communication skills
